OSP's Oxford Summer School Safety
Oxford summer school safety comes first at OSP. Your child’s safety and well-being are at the center of everything we do at OSP’s Oxford summer school, and scholars thrive academically when they feel secure, supported, and genuinely cared for, and that’s the environment we work hard to create every day.
We also understand that sending your child abroad for a pre-university programme is a big decision. With trained staff and 24/7 welfare support, parents can feel confident their child is in safe, capable hands in the city of Oxford.
Our Promise to You & Your Child
At OSP, scholar welfare and well-being are central to everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where every scholar can thrive.

Zero-tolerance policy
Bullying, discrimination, and harassment are not tolerated. Every scholar agrees to a clear code of conduct.

Respect and inclusion
We foster a positive environment where diversity is embraced and every voice is heard.

Our dedicated team provides guidance, emotional support, and a friendly face whenever needed.

Focus on growth

A Culture of Care
OSP’s Oxford summer school safety isn’t a policy on paper, it’s built into daily life, from mealtimes to evening activities.

Personalised Care for Every Scholar’s Journey
- Neurodivergent scholars bring creativity, insight, and unique perspectives that enrich the OSP community. We warmly welcome students with special educational needs and are committed to supporting every scholar with care, understanding, and respect.
- After confirmation, families are invited to share relevant learning or support information through a confidential onboarding form. This allows us to understand each scholar's needs and tailor support appropriately.
- Where more complex needs are identified, we work closely with families to develop an Individual Student Support Agreement, ensuring the right arrangements are in place for a positive and successful experience

“A true honor for our son to participate for the second time, OSP gave him opportunities for self-improvement, exploration, and the creation of beautiful friendships he will cherish.”
Frequently Asked Questions
Who looks after the scholars during the programme?
Oxford summer school safety is our top priority. At OSP, scholars are supported 24/7 by a team of dedicated Residential Advisors (RAs), Team Advisors, and Programme Staff throughout their time with us. All team members undergo safeguarding training, are enhanced DBS checked, and are carefully selected for their experience in mentoring young people.
How will I know my child has arrived safely?
Parents receive confirmation via email or text once their child checks in. Our team is available throughout travel days for real-time updates.
What if I don’t want to participate in a certain activity?
All activities are compulsory at OSP. However, if a scholar is unable to participate in a specific activity due to health reasons or other circumstances, we will accommodate them and provide necessary support. In such cases, alternative quiet or on-campus options may be offered on a case-by-case basis to ensure the scholar’s well-being while maintaining their engagement with the programme.
Can parents stay with their child during the programme?
Due to UK safeguarding laws and accreditation requirements, only registered scholars are permitted to stay in the college accommodation.
All scholars are supervised 24/7 by trained residential staff, with structured check-ins and dedicated welfare support to ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Parents are welcome to visit their child during designated break times; however, accommodation within the college is reserved exclusively for OSP students.
What if there’s an emergency during the programme?
A senior member of staff is on call 24/7. Emergency protocols are in place, and parents are contacted immediately if urgent situations arise.
Do you cater to dietary restrictions and allergies?
Definitely. Our summer school in the city of Oxford provides meal options for scholars who are vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, or have other dietary needs. This information is collected via the student portal after acceptance.
